Practicalities of Doing Business in China Renminbi (RMB) Internationalisation and Opportunities

ACBC Victoria will host a presentation and practical discussion about exchange and settlement of trade with China through the RMB.

In the current financial climate, and with new Chinese government financial policies being constantly introduced, this session is a must for all companies wanting to stay on top of opportunities to invest and trade with China.

The session will focus on:

•           What China's policy changes mean for Australian importers and exporters

•           Doing business in RMB

•           Maximising RMB trade opportunities

Guest speakers will be:

Paul Fawcett - Trade and Supply Chain Business, HSBC

For the last five years Paul was Senior Vice-President for Trade and Supply Chain in HSBC Hong Kong where he was instrumental in the development of the bank's RMB trade-related business. He has over 20 years experience working in Europe and Asia-Pacific and is now Senior Business Development Manager of Trade and Supply Chain. Paul also has experience with both the Trade Department of the UK Government with responsibility for Taiwan, and also the China-Britain Business Council, as China Business Manager.

Paul Edwards - Foreign Exchange Business, HSBC

Paul has worked for HSBC since 1986 and has spent the past 20 years working in the dealing room. In that time Paul has worked both on the trading and sales desks. His current role entails advising of risk management strategies for foreign exchange and interest rate exposures as the Co-Head of Corporate Sales for HSBC's Australian foreign exchange and interest rates business.
