Our popular China Business Ready Breakfast Series is an opportunity to workshop your Chinese business issues, challenges and opportunities and to hear practical business advice from knowledgeable and China-experienced ACBC members and guest experts.

Gary Garner will share his experience dealing with category 3 cities and the opportunities that lie ahead for Australian businesses. Gary will also provide an example of working with organisations such as Smart Sense who support Australian businesses. This is also an opportunity to discuss the challenges of setting up an office in China.

Guest Expert - Gary Garner – Business Adviser

Gary Garner is a commercial and financial adviser with over thirty years’ experience in advising on business and project feasibility, financing and capital structuring. He has PPP/PFI experience gained in Australia and the Middle East with wider commercial experience gained in Australia, Europe, Middle East Africa and China. Gary also has corporate experience having most recently held the position of Executive Vice President at Dubai Airports Corporation.

Gary works with companies seeking to pursue business interests in China, Europe and Middle East. He has recently worked with Smart Sense Global in China to establish the strategy for the development of a high-tech economic zone to attract inbound business investment to Tongxiang-Wuzhen are in Zhejiang province. In the early 2000’s he led the team that developed Huawei’s Integrated Supply Chain as part of their planned international expansion.

His experience includes market and commercial feasibility of investment and trade projects, including determining risk-based investment strategies to ensure that risks and rewards are balanced and appropriately reflected in contractual arrangements. He has advised government on policy issues related to corporatisation and privatisation strategy as well as private sector valuations and financial and commercial due diligence.
