Melbourne: China Business Essentials - Chinese Financial Fundamentals

The Australia China Business Council, together with the Victoria Business Confucius Institute is pleased to invite you to China Essentials - Chinese Financial Fundamentals, with keynote speakers Mr Jiqing Xu, EGM Marketing and Risk MMG Limited; and Associate Professor Claire Wang, VBCI

It is important for you to be able to read and understand Chinese financial reports and the key financial indicators in Chinese financial reporting contexts. This event is a workshop for Australian organisations entering into business relationships with Chinese counterparts, to avoid pitfalls and obstacles. The workshop will address:

  • The key financial indicators to be aware of when investigating Chinese Companies as potential partners
  • Changes in regulation that affect financial reporting in China
  • Case studies and step-by-step approaches for conducting a financial analysis

Speaker Bio: 

Mr Jiqing Xu
Executive Director / EGM Marketing and Risk MMG Limited
Mr Xu is a qualified senior accountant in the PRC, a fellowship member of the Certified General Accountants Association of Canada and a chartered professional accountant member of the Chartered Professional Accountants of British Columbia, Canada. Mr Xu has extensive experience in areas including accounting and corporate financial management, corporate strategy, mergers and acquisitions, and capital markets.

Associate Professor Claire Wang

Chinese-Director, Victoria Business Confucius Institute

Claire Wang currently serves as the Chinese-Director of the Victoria Business Confucius Institute (VBCI) at Victoria University and is an Associate Professor of University of International Business and Economics Beijing. Claire is the founding Chinese-Director of the Victoria Business Confucius Institute (VBCI) and currently teaches ‘Doing Business in China’ to university students at Victoria University. Claire also conducts training in doing business in China to local Australian industry and coaches Australian business leaders in the Education and Healthcare sectors on establishing and managing relationships with Chinese Business Partners.

Claire has over 10 years of experience in international collaboration in the higher education sector and continues to work closely with industry, especially the financial investment industry in China where she has advised as a senior consultant to some Chinese leading capital management corporations and funds. She is a Certified Practicing Accountant (CPA) Australia with deep expertise in the areas of corporate finance, operation and corporate governance of Chinese state-owned companies, the financial analysis of Chinese nterprises and cross-border joint-ventures and private equity investment.
