The Australia China Business Council, together with the Victoria Business Confucius Institute is pleased to invite you to China Essentials - Choosing Your Platform, with keynote speakers, Dr Catherine Lou, VU and Mr Frank Fang, Sichuan Luzhou Municipal Government Talent Workstation  

This event will cover topics including:

  • Understanding the e-commerce ecosystem
  • Identifying the main players in e-commerce distribution
  • How to decide whether to use an e-commerce platform or work alone via a personalised platform
  • How to manage the logistics behind the E-commerce in China

Speaker Bios

Dr Catherine Lou

Lecturer, College of Business, VU; Project Manager, VBCI  

Dr Catherine Lou is currently a lecturer in supply chain and logistics in the College of Business, and Project Manager at the Victoria Business Confucius Institute at Victoria University. Catherine joined VU as a lecturer after she completed her PhD (Supply Chain Optimisation) in 2015. During her PhD she was awarded the International Student of the Year – Postgraduate and has since been awarded the VU Outstanding Student Alumni Award. Catherine has conducted research in supply chain modelling since 2008 and has a very strong background in Applied Mathematics and supply chain management. Catherine has published various articles in peer-reviewed international journals/international conferences and has received competitive research grants in the supply chain related area during her research career.

Catherine also serves in roles including Research Associate at the Institute for Sustainable Industries & Liveable Cities, Institute for Supply Chain and Logistics and the Victoria Institute of Strategic Economic Studies.

Mr Frank Fang

Administrator, Sichuan Luzhou Municipal Government Talent Workstation (Australian Station)

Frank is actively involved in helping Chinese companies and provincial and city level government’s source business partners, expertise and products and services from Australia. He has a strong understanding of the differences in culture, business, and politics between Australia and China. Currently, Frank is the Administrator of Sichuan Luzhou Municipal Government Talent Workstation, Australia, where he identifies and directly introduces projects and talents that comply with Luzhou city’s development trends back to China. He also facilitates relationships between the Luzhou government and local businesses, with Australian business-related authorities.

This is a standalone event and is part of the China Business Essentials Series.
