Announced by China President Xi Jinping in May 2017 this important Expo is a commitment by the Government of China to actively open the Chinese Market to the world. China plans to import goods and services valued at over 10 trillion USD in the next 5 years.

Dr XU Jie - Consul General of the People's Republic of China Brisbane 
Consul-General Xu Jie, Doctor of Laws, has served in the Department of Treaty and Law, Department of Personnel, Department of North American and Oceanian Affairs, and Office of the Commissioner in the Macao Special Administrative Region, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA), in positions including Deputy Director, Director, Counsellor and member of department leaders. He also worked as the Deputy Secretary-General at Asian-African Legal Consultative Organization (AALCO). Dr Xu Jie is the 5th Consul-General of the P. R. China in Brisbane.

Mr CHEN Huaiyu - National Chairman, China Chamber of Commerce and General Manager and Country Head - Australia,  Bank of China
Mr Chen has had a long and distinguished career within the Bank of China Group. Prior to his current role, he held GM and CEO positions in the Hungary and Serbia branches of the Bank of China and was the Regional Head of Central Eastern European Countries.He also worked in corporate banking and risk management at Head Office level, and then went on to be the Executive Assistant President and Chief Risk Officer at Bank of China Guangdong Branch. Prior to joining Bank of China, Mr Chen held different positions at the People’s Republic of China Government including Foreign Trade Management Division of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation as well as Economic and Commercial Counselor's Office of the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Hungary. 

Mr Stephen Abbott -  President, Australia-China Business Council Queensland
Stephen is a Partner and China expert at KPMG.  He has over 20 years’ experience in International Business, Migration, Energy and Natural Resources. He specialises in working collaboratively to develop long-term partnerships with overseas investing companies, specifically focussing on Chinese clients.  Stephen holds a number of Board positions and is actively involved in many aspects of international investment in the Australian landscape including specialised operational advice for clients.

Mrs Nussara Smith - Board Member, Australia-China Business Council Queensland   
Nussara was the CEO of the ACBC QLD Branch for 3 years from 2014-2017 and has made a great contribution to the ACBC in QLD and nationally. Under her leadership, the profile and capability of the ACBC in QLD has been greatly enhanced and the Branch was recognized as a fast growing and highly successful bilateral business chamber.  Nussara is an experienced senior executive with over 20 years experience in Trade and Investment Queensland, the Queensland Government's trade and investment agency.  In her former role as the Director for the Asia Region, she was responsible for managing the Queensland Government’s international trade and investment strategies for Asia and the overseas office networks including its China operations.  She has extensive experience in providing advice to government and businesses on trade and investment strategies with Asia.

Mr Carl Hinze - Partner, Head of China Practice, Holding Redlich
Carl is a Partner in the Corporate & Commercial Group of Holding Redlich. Before joining the firm, Carl worked for 10 years in China in the fields of investment banking and law. Carl has advised clients on a wide range of matters, including cross-border mergers and acquisitions, corporate restructurings, commercial law, employment law, crisis management, dispute resolution and financial services regulatory issues. He is a co-editor of Oxford University Press’ Financial Services Regulation in Asia Pacific. Prior to becoming a legal practitioner, Carl lectured at the University of Queensland in the School of Languages and Comparative Cultural Studies. Carl is a recognized expert in the field of Chinese sociolinguistics and politeness research.
