Melbourne: Philanthropy in Australian and Chinese Business Cultures

The Australia China Business Council Victoria, in partnership with BMY Group, warmly invites you to our luncheon seminar focusing on the impact of the new citizenship and visa regulations, and to what extent this is relevant to the philanthropic giving attitudes and practices of the Chinese diaspora in Australia.  

Our keynote speakers and expert panellists will provide insights into the amended legislation, Western value propositions regarding philanthropy, and how these will affect philanthropic projects pursued by Chinese living in Australia.

About our keynote speakers: 
Sandra Jacobs, CEO, Bennelong Foundation
Sandra’s experience spans both the financial and philanthropic sectors,and joins the foundation after a considerable career as a wealth manager with Morgan Stanley. Sandra is known in the philanthropic community through her work and directorships with Significant Women’s Network, Women in Finance and as Founder and Chair of The Nappy Collective.

Kristopher Kunasingam, Lawyer and Migration Consultant, Hall & Wilcox 
Kristopher is a Registered Migration Consultant. He advises on aspects of migration to Australia, with particular emphasis on employment-related migration. Kristopher’s experience includes the drafting of primary visa applications to the Department of Immigration and Border Protection, including preparation of employer sponsorship and nomination applications under Australia’s subclass 457 and ENS programs. Kristopher advises his clients on sponsorship and immigration to Australia, as well as visas and citizenship, and he makes recommendations for intervention to the Minister for Immigration and Border Protection.
