Speaker: Professor Wang Chenguang

Special Adviser to the Supreme People’s Court of China (since 2003) and Arbitrator at the China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission, CIETAC) since 1993

Wang Chenguang is one of China’s leading business law experts in international economic and trade arbitration. He is former Dean of Law School at Tsinghua University. Questions which have arisen for members and which he can address include:

  • recognition of foreign arbitral awards in China: practical experiences
  • arbitration v court process: pros and cons  

Prof Wang received a LLM from Harvard Law School and BA, Master of Law and PhD of Law degrees from Peking University. He has been a Professor of Law at Tsinghua University since 2000 and is currently Director of Health Law Research Centre, a position which he has held since 2008. Wang was a Fulbright Scholar at the University of Wisconsin. He has held a wide range of Visiting Professorships across law schools internationally, including stints at the New York University Law School, the Hauser Global Law Faculty, the Cornell Law School and the University of Pennsylvania Law School.
