Overview
ACBC South Australian Branch has had a long and distinguished relationship with China and is seen as the premier organisation for promoting South Australian businesses commercially involved in China.
The South Australian Branch represents a range of businesses actively involved with China, from banks, manufacturers, educators and tourism operators to law firms and accountants.
The State of South Australia’s partnership with China has been building steadily over the past 20 years, particularly in Qingdao, where a strong sister-state relationship with Shandong Province has identified many trade opportunities built upon the export of South Australian malt, hops and wine.
ACBC South Australian Branch has an instrumental role in the SA Government’s China Cluster, advising the SA Government and the Council for International Trade and Commerce on China.
Close contact is also maintained with the Federal Government to provide members with unique access to key departments engaged in relations with China.
Recent events held by the South Australian Branch have featured presentations from Peter Osborne, Austrade's Country Manager China, Kim Ooi, President TI Automotive China Operations, Rt Hon Mike Moore, former Prime Minister New Zealand former Director-General World Trade Organisation 1999-2002, Richard Kimber, Partner Wadley Business Consultants, and the University of Adelaide.
